We have been very busy since November 2000 !!! |
Members of the Society have put in a lot of time and effort over the past few years, because of this, we are proud to say we have successfully achieved the following objectives within our Community. |
* Donated £6,000 towards providing boardwalks at the ‘Sands Lake’ allowing access for all around the lake. |
* Installed the original Ainsdale Millwheel (the emblem of the Society) in the garden at the front of the Ainsdale Library. |
* Donated an Oak Tree to the Village to celebrate our first birthday, which has been planted on the Village Green. |
* Donated two watercolour paintings featured in an article about Ainsdale in ‘Lancashire Life’ to Ainsdale Library and Ainsdale Discovery Centre. |
* Provided 6 Planting troughs on Ainsdale Station which are filled and maintained by the Society. |
*Erected a Notice Board within the Village to offer a showcase for all wishing to publicise any events held within the Village. |
* Hold an annual fun-filled ‘Gala Family Fun Day’ to which everyone is welcome. |
* Our first publication ‘The War Memorial’ gives an insight into those brave men and women whose names are engraved on the Village Memorial. It is available from the Chocolate Box, Ainsdale Library or direct from our Secretary at a cost of £2.50 |
